두 숨 - 하나의 숲 Two Breath - One Becoming : 조화로움을 향한 여정

​

“날이 밝으면 태양이 당신에게 새로운 힘을 주기를.

밤이 되면 달이 당신을 부드럽게 회복시켜 주기를.”

 

  김수정과 최혜인의 이인전은 생명을 바라보는 두 시선이 만나 하나의 순환을 이루는 전시다. 디지털과 아날로그라는 상반된 언어는 전시 공간 안에 나란히 놓이며 공통된 질문을 던진다. 생명은 어떻게 태어나고 생장하며 소멸, 순환하는가?

 

  김수정은 숲과 잎맥, 관계망과 알고리즘에서 드러나는 구조를 따라간다. 자연의 질서를 수학적 규칙과 생성 과정으로 번역하고 계산과 실험, 그리고 AI와의 대화를 통해 형태가 만들어지는 방식을 탐구한다. 보이지 않는 네트워크의 작동은 화면 위에서 밀도와 리듬을 가진 풍경으로 나타난다.

 

  최혜인은 야채와 곡식, 씨앗과 과일을 소재로 생명의 근원을 더듬는다. 부엌과 살림, 일상의 노동 속에서 발견한 먹거리 식물들은 군집을 이루고 번식하며 우리 몸의 일부가 된다. 단단한 곡식과 여리지만 질긴 채소들은 거대한 생태의 일부로 인간과 공생한다. 원초적인 손의 감각과 물질의 질감을 통해 개별적인 식물 초상들이 자연의 절기 속에서 풍경화처럼 펼쳐진다.

 

  한 사람은 생명이 만들어지는 구조를 기계로 설계하고 한 사람은 생장의 과정을 손으로 표현한다. 태양과 달처럼, 낮과 밤처럼 서로 다른 방향에서 출발한 두 시선은 결국 하나의 원을 그리며 만난다. 이 전시는 우리가 속해 있는 거대한 생명의 순환을 함께 바라보는 두 사람의 대화로 삶이 교차하는 공동의 풍경이자 조화로움을 향한 여정을 보여준다.

Two Breaths – One Forest: A Journey Toward Harmony

​

“May the sun grant you new strength when the day breaks.
May the moon gently restore you when night falls.”

​

This two-person exhibition by Suzung Kim and Hyein Choi brings together two perspectives on life, converging into a single cycle. The seemingly contrasting languages of digital and analog are placed side by side within the exhibition space, posing a shared question: How is life born, how does it grow, how does it fade, and how does it return in endless circulation?

​

Suzung Kim traces the structures embedded in forests, leaf veins, relational networks, and algorithms. She translates the order of nature into mathematical rules and generative processes, exploring how forms come into being through calculation, experimentation, and dialogue with AI. The workings of invisible networks emerge on the screen as landscapes imbued with density and rhythm.

Hyein Choi turns to vegetables, grains, seeds, and fruits to trace the origins of life. The edible plants discovered in the kitchen, in housekeeping, and in the labor of everyday life gather, propagate, and ultimately become part of our bodies. Solid grains and tender yet resilient vegetables coexist with humans as elements of a vast ecology. Through the primal sensation of the hand and the textures of material, individual plant portraits unfold like landscapes within the rhythm of the seasons.

One artist designs the structures through which life is formed using machines; the other renders the process of growth by hand. Like the sun and the moon, like day and night, these two perspectives begin from different directions yet ultimately meet in a single circle.

​

This exhibition is a dialogue between two artists who contemplate the great cycle of life to which we belong. It presents a shared landscape where lives intersect—an ongoing journey toward harmony.
